IBIS Prof. Thome AG establishes an effective link between information technology and classic economics. IBIS Prof. Thome's primary aim is to develop and improve the methods, software tools and services necessary to continually enhance the integration of organization and information processing. Its second most important initiative is its project work, specifically methods and tool coaching, in which the developed methods and tools are implemented and applied toward problem solving.

IBIS Prof. Thome currently employs 30 assistants, half of whom have received their doctorate degree and own shares in the company. In addition, IBIS has access to 20 outsourced employees and partner companies for software development (such as Siemens AG and SAP), as well as support in research projects from assistants on the staff of the university Faculty for Business Administration and Information Technology.
